Condo Profile:
BOHEMIAN EMBASSY
adds new dimension to Queen Street neighbourhood
|
|

Baywood Homes has officially launched sales of its Bohemian
Embassy condominium on Queen Street West. The project brings
great new neighbours to a great old neighbourhood, says
Natascha Pieper, Baywood’s Sales and Marketing Manager.
“The Bohemian Embassy is certain to lend a new dimension to
this much loved neighbourhood,” Pieper told the gathered
guests. “The area has long been a great place to visit, club
hop and shop. Now we are helping make it a great place to
live as well.
“With neighbours like the Drake Hotel, our Bohemian Embassy
will help make the community that much more vibrant, that
much more exciting.”
The project is indeed an eye-catcher. Baywood has created a
form of art, a sort of triptych, a 19-storey tower at the
rear of the property, an eight-storey mid-rise fronting on
Queen Street and binding them together, an exquisite central
courtyard, lushly landscaped and accessible through a
welcoming arched gateway. The project has managed to combine
enormous value for residents with special, elegant grace
notes for the entire community.
That concern for the rich tableau that exists in the area is
evident in the presentation centre itself. Baywood recruited
local artists and artisans to help with the design and
decoration of the pavilion. Prospective purchasers can
browse the displays and get to know the community as they
work out details of their new homes.
The Bohemian Embassy offers 345 suites, including a number
of flats and two-storey lofts. Every unit has a patio,
balcony or terrace, some as large as 20 ft. long by 5 ft.
deep. They range in size from 475-sq.- ft., one-bedroom
units to expansive two-bedroom plus den two-storey lofts.
Prices start at an affordable $159,900.
“We are creating something quite out of the ordinary,” says
Pieper. ”The aim is to capture a sense of the neighborhood,
the feeling of living surrounded by what have become icons
in the life of downtown Toronto.”
That lifestyle begins within the precincts of the Bohemian
Embassy. Residents can enjoy the workout facilities,
barbecue on the roof-top garden, relax in the courtyard and
then venture out onto Queen Street West.
The look and lines of The Bohemian Embassy manage to bridge
the industrial and Victorian – the predominant styles that
give this stretch of Queen West its kinky charm.
“Bottom line, it is a great place to live and work,” says
Pieper. “As neighbours you have both the Drake Hotel and
dozens of boutiques, cafés and nightspots in the area.
“The Queen Street streetcar puts the subway and the rest of
downtown just minutes from your doorstep. The Bohemian
Embassy, like its celebrated namesake, is a celebration of
life in the city.”
Best of all, The Bohemian Embassy is affordable, priced to
attract the mix of residents that has made Queen West a
sought-after neighbourhood. It promises to prove the perfect
answer for young people making their first move downtown,
those working along Bay Street who want to be close to the
downtown beat or for empty-nesters wanting to leave behind
large family homes in favour of a more carefree urban
lifestyle.
