Oshawa Mayor
Officially Opens
Baywood's Newest Ravine Lot Community
Toronto, ON. November 20, 2004 -
Baywood Homes officially
opened their newest ravine lot community, The Ravines of Greenhill, in north
Oshawa, with the help of local Mayor John Gray.
‘Greenhill,’ a 275-home development, is situated on
both the east and west sides of Wilson Road North between Taunton Road East and
Conlin Road East. The community is comprised of detached family homes on 40’,
45’ and 50’ lots. It is situated in a one-of-a-kind woodland community
surrounded by parks and trees, with many lots backing onto wide-open green space
leading to a winding ravine. Unique features include 9’ ceilings, all brick
elevations, ceramic tiles, soaker tubs, separate showers, paved driveways and
walk-outs. Prices start at $229,990 and homes range in size from 1,257 square
feet to 3,522 square feet.
“I want to congratulate Baywood Homes on this
exciting new project,” said City of Oshawa Mayor John Gray. “The City of Oshawa
is pleased to have Baywood building in our incredible city and I wish you great
success on your latest release of homes.”
Those who attended the Official Opening Event enjoyed special incentives which
have been extended for a limited time.
Greenhill is expected
to draw many residents from the Greater Toronto Area as well as those from the
City of Oshawa itself, and its neighbouring towns. Just a 30-minute commute to
Toronto, Oshawa is an emerging city that can ‘hold its own’ in the areas of
economic development, career opportunity, culture and entertainment. Statistics
Canada declared Oshawa Canada’s most popular city to move to in 2003. The
affordable cost of housing is one of the major components responsible for this
significant growth. Housing in Oshawa is an estimated 40 percent less than
comparable housing in Toronto.
Residents of Oshawa enjoy a wide variety of shopping, medical,
educational, cultural and recreational facilities. The City’s proximity to
Metropolitan Toronto means that the activities of Canada’s leading business and
cultural centre are just a short distance away. It is therefore possible to
enjoy the advantages of "big-city" living in Oshawa while avoiding the
associated high costs and congestion. Oshawa’s location also provides
convenient access to the surrounding countryside and the recreational
opportunities afforded by Lake Ontario and the Kawartha and Haliburton tourist
regions.
